Mario Bellini

Mario Bellini is an influential Italian architect and designer, born in Milan on February 1, 1935. After studying architecture at Milan Polytechnic, he began his work with Olivetti, designing the landmark Divisumma 18 calculator in 1973. Bellini’s iconic furniture designs include the Cab chair and the Le Bambole sofa, both of which are still in production today. Additionally, he has designed lighting fixtures for Artemide, such as the Eclisse table lamp. Bellini’s designs are characterised by clean lines, innovative use of materials, and lasting appeal. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to the design industry and is known for his significant contributions to the field of architecture, with notable projects including the Tokyo Design Centre and the Milan Convention Centre.
