Tapio Wirkkala

Tapio Wirkkala was born in Hanko, Finland and is renowned for his flexible designs. Not only did he create glass products, but also designed banknotes and graphic art. In addition, he was the artistic director of the University of Arts and Design in Helsinki for several years. Throughout his career, Wirkkala showcased his work at various international exhibitions, earning numerous awards, including six gold medals at the Triennale in Milan.

Wirkkala’s innovative designs are showcased in the Ultima Thule collection by Iittala, including the Ultima Thule 50cl Pitcher and 20cl O.F., Ultima Thule 1.5L Pitcher – Set of Two, and Ultima Thule 500ml Pitcher – Set of Two.
