Pia Design and Olson & Baker: Cedar Court Collaboration

A woody good time.

Cedar Court was a labour of love for both Pia Design and Olson & Baker, who joined forces to create a collaboration that seamlessly combined interior design beauty with nature. 

Nestled in the heart of Kingston Upon Thames, Cedar Court is a beautifully curated modern flat that blends Scandinavian simplicity with Japanese-inspired warmth. Though compact in size, the home is rich in warmth and details, offering a serene, refined escape from the everyday.

With a soft, neutral palette and an emphasis on natural textures, the interiors evoke a calming, restorative atmosphere throughout. Carefully considered bespoke joinery and custom-made pieces maximise both functionality and beauty, while maintaining a clean and uncluttered aesthetic.

Each room has been thoughtfully designed to reflect a sense of quiet luxury — from the tailored his & hers bedrooms to the open living space that subtly showcases craftsmanship and restraint. Key statement pieces anchor the flat, including the exquisite Fawn Bed from Gazzda in the main bedroom, supplied by Olson & Baker, which perfectly captures the project’s ethos of understated elegance.

The second bedroom was more playful, and featured more pieces provided by Olson & Baker, including the Ethnicraft Nordic II Bedside Table which brought utility and elegance to the space, and was the perfect countertop for the Audo Copenhagen Reverse Table Lamp, drawing inspiration from geometric shapes, natural materials, and minimal yet practical design.

Mighty oaks from little acorns grow! The calming, minimal atmosphere for the home was achieved with high quality pieces and design, and ultimately met and exceeded the client’s expectations.
