Design House Stockholm’s Bjork Stool Low is based on a weft in wool, combined with details in leather. It was designed by Lena Bergstrom in 1999 and inspired by the birch tree.
The expression in the stool’s woven structure is inspired by the black and white trunk of the birch tree (‘Björk’ in Swedish) and the leather represents the inside of the bark. The Bjork Stool consists of rugs in four sizes, ‘homebags’ or storage baskets in three sizes, and stools in two sizes.
Materials & Finishes
Weft in 100% wool, warp in 100% cotton, edging/handles in 100% leather.
Vacuum clean Björk regularly to remove particles imbedded in the wool. Spots can be removed using a clean cloth or sponge with lukewarm water. Do not allow the wool to become soaked. Remove excess water with a sponge. When cleaning Björk, we recommend using a qualified rug specialist. Flat wash with water and flat dry.
