The Ronde Pendant Light produced by Gubi in 1970 and has won a number of design awards; recognised for its highly innovative and sustainable approach to furniture design. Ronde Pendant Light was designed by Oliver Schick.
The Ronde Pendant is Oliver Schick’s first product for Gubi. The bell-shaped piece has reference to the traditional pendant lamp and the heyday of 1970s lightning design; however, in a modern interpretation.

Oliver Schick was born in 1969 in Darmstadt, a small town which is one of Germany‘s most important places regarding the history of the Art Nouveau movement in the end of the 19th century. Affected by the cultural past of his hometown, he studied product design at the HBK – University of fine arts and Design in Saarbruecken.
Gubi was founded in 1967 by Jacob and Sebastian’s parents, Gubi and Lisbeth Olsen. “At Gubi, we’re on a continual quest. A journey. Fuelled by our passion to discover overlooked icons from the past and future…”.
