- Curved tempered Ice glass introduces a translucent element that subtly reveals the cabinet's contents while preserving its sense of mystery when closed
- Presence-activated LED lighting brings the bar interior to life automatically, creating an atmospheric display when the cabinet is opened
- Slender cylindrical profile delivers impressive storage and visual impact while using surprisingly little floor space
The Mary Sideboard by Porada conceals a beautifully illuminated home bar behind four sculpted Canaletta walnut petals and curved Ice glass. With brushed brass detailing and a striking cylindrical silhouette, it turns entertaining into an experience worth revealing.
A Bar Cabinet That Demands a Second Look
The Mary Sideboard by Porada is designed to surprise. At first glance, its slender cylindrical silhouette and beautifully curved walnut petals create a sculptural presence, but open the cabinet and an entirely different experience is revealed. Designed by Patrick Jouin, Mary brings together exceptional craftsmanship, atmospheric lighting and a beautifully considered bar interior in a piece that feels made for those who appreciate furniture with a story to tell.
Four Petals, One Remarkable Silhouette
The defining feature of Mary is its four carved Canaletta walnut petals, carefully arranged around a curved panel of tempered Ice glass. The rounded construction gives the cabinet a softness that is unusual for a bar piece, while the natural walnut introduces warmth, depth and tactile richness. Canaletta walnut is prized for its strength and longevity, but its naturally varied grain is what makes it so captivating, giving each cabinet subtle differences in tone and pattern. For a deeper, more dramatic interior, the Wenge-stained finish gives the timber an even richer expression.
Open the Doors to Something Unexpected
Mary reveals its most enchanting detail when opened. The upper compartment is finished with a brushed brass backdrop and fitted with rechargeable LED lighting activated by a human presence sensor, illuminating the bottles and glassware inside with a warm, atmospheric glow. Two wooden shelves provide space for glasses and bar accessories, while the lower compartment offers additional storage. The effect is less like opening a cupboard and more like revealing a carefully curated private bar, making Mary an exceptional addition to spaces created for entertaining.
Designed for the Art of Entertaining
Mary's tall, slender proportions allow it to introduce a luxurious bar area without demanding a large footprint. Place it within a dining room, living space or entertaining area where its sculptural silhouette can be appreciated, then pair it with the Porada Infinity Dining Table to create a sophisticated setting built around exceptional Italian design. Nearby, the Porada Pileo Floor Lamp can introduce another sculptural lighting element, while the Porada Giove Mirror can amplify the sense of scale and drama. The Porada Mary Sideboard is ultimately a piece for enjoying the ritual of entertaining, bringing bottles, glassware, light and craftsmanship together in one unforgettable design.
