The Ziggy Dining Table by Porada combines a distinctive architectural silhouette with the enduring beauty of solid Canaletta walnut.
A Dining Table With Distinctive Character
The Ziggy Dining Table by Porada brings a beautifully architectural presence to the dining room, balancing clean lines with the natural warmth of solid timber. Designed by Carlo Ballabio, its slender, tapered legs and precisely framed structure give the table a distinctive silhouette that feels considered from every angle. It is a piece designed to sit confidently at the centre of the home, providing a sophisticated setting for everything from everyday meals to memorable evenings with friends and family.
The Natural Beauty of Canaletta Walnut
Ziggy is crafted from solid Canaletta walnut, a material prized for its strength, longevity and rich natural character. The grain remains clearly visible throughout the frame and legs, allowing the beauty of the timber to become part of the design rather than simply a surface finish. We offer Ziggy in Canaletta walnut and Wenge-stained Canaletta walnut, giving you the choice between the warmth and natural depth of walnut or a darker, more dramatic expression. Whichever you choose, the solid timber gives Ziggy the enduring quality expected from beautifully made Italian furniture.
Proportions Made for Gathering
The rectangular form creates a generous setting for dining, making Ziggy particularly suited to homes where the table is expected to work hard and look exceptional while doing it. Its clean-lined frame leaves the space beneath the tabletop feeling open, while the carefully positioned tapered legs provide a strong sense of balance without distracting from the people gathered around it. Style it with the Porada Abby Dining Chair for a softer, upholstered setting, or choose the Porada Nissa Dining Chair to bring together natural walnut, generous comfort and contemporary Italian design.
Made to Become Part of the Home
There is an enduring appeal to a dining table made from real wood, particularly when the material is allowed to define the character of the piece. Ziggy has the versatility to sit comfortably within a refined contemporary interior while retaining enough warmth to make the dining room feel inviting and lived in. Pair it with sculptural lighting, tactile upholstery and natural materials to create a setting that feels effortlessly considered. The Porada Ziggy Dining Table is more than somewhere to eat; it is a lasting piece around which daily rituals, celebrations and long conversations naturally gather.

What It Is: Lacquered solid wood is finished with a protective coating that enhances the wood’s appearance, typically offering a semi-matt or satin finish. This coating provides a strong barrier against moisture, stains, and wear. Staining further enriches the wood’s natural colour. Over time, some change in the wood’s tone may occur, adding depth to its appearance.
Care Instructions: – Dust regularly with a soft cloth. – Clean spills immediately using a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. – Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals. – Use coasters to protect against heat and moisture. – Keep away from radiators and avoid sudden temperature changes to help prevent potential issues with the wood. – Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
Why It Matters: Lacquer provides a durable, long-lasting finish, protecting the wood from damage. Consistent care helps maintain the surface’s aesthetic and protective qualities, ensuring it remains in excellent condition. Expect subtle changes in the wood’s hue over time, enhancing its character.
Marble
What It Is: Marble is a natural stone known for its elegance and unique veining, used in high-end furniture and surfaces.
Care Instructions: – Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. – Avoid acidic cleaners. – Seal periodically to prevent staining.
Why It Matters: Marble is porous and can stain; regular sealing and proper cleaning help maintain its beauty and durability.
Ceramics (Bone China, Porcelain, Stoneware)
What It Is: Ceramics are crafted from inorganic materials fired at high temperatures. Types like bone china, porcelain, and stoneware differ in composition and use. Bone china includes bone ash for translucency and strength, porcelain is known for its fine, white quality, and stoneware is durable with a more rugged appearance.
Care Instructions: – Hand wash with warm water and a mild detergent to avoid abrasive cleaners. – Use a soft cloth or sponge for cleaning to prevent scratching. – Dry with a soft, lint-free cloth to avoid water spots. – For lighting fixtures, ensure electrical components are dry and avoid getting the ceramic parts wet. – Handle with care to avoid chipping or cracking. For decorative ceramics, keep away from harsh chemicals and abrasive tools.
Why It Matters: Proper care ensures the longevity and aesthetic appeal of ceramics. Maintaining the integrity of ceramic items preserves their function and appearance, whether in lighting fixtures or furniture pieces.
Glass
What It Is: Glass is a smooth, transparent material used in furniture for its clarity and modern aesthetic.
Care Instructions: – Clean with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth. – Avoid abrasive cleaners. – Dry thoroughly to prevent streaks.
Why It Matters: Glass can show fingerprints and dust; regular cleaning keeps its clarity and enhances its appearance.

We purchased our item (a beautiful coat hook) but had to delay delivery due to a trip overseas.
