The Kyoto Floor Lamp offers a distinct visual identity with its tripod-like solid wood frame. With a washi paper frame and wire skeleton for the shade, the piece features brass plated steel hardware. Providing a soft ambient glow to its surroundings, the Kyoto diffuses the light beautifully through its translucent shade. Designed by OEO Studio, the piece draws inspiration from Japanese toy aeroplanes, embracing Stellar Work's Asian roots and design details. Beautiful both functionally and sculpturally, the Kyoto promises to be a talking point of its surroundings.

A clean and wet towel should be used to wipe the surface of any product that is exposed to ordinary or corrosive liquid within 10 minutes. A piece of dry cloth should then be applied to absorb the residual moisture. Please try not to apply a detergent with a high concentration of alcohol or a bleaching effect to clean household products. If you have no alternative, you must wipe the detergent off immediately after cleaning to remove corrosive liquid residue.

Where should a floor lamp be placed in a living room?
The best places to put a designer floor lamp in your living room include behind your sofa, in a corner or next to your tv. A floor lamp obviously has to plug into a wall socket. Therefore, these locations are both practical and well-balanced in the room's layout. Not only this, but they also allow for proper dispersion of light.
What is the material is the shade made from on the Kyoto Floor Lamp by Stellar Works?
Stellar Works construct the Kyoto Light's diffuser with Japanese Unesco-listed washi paper. This makes it quite an unusual designer floor lamp. Washi paper is very common in screens and lamps and more recently in shutters and blinds. This is thanks to its translucency. An ingenious quality of washi is that it shrinks slightly when it dries after being damp. This quality alone makes it great for lampshades as it tightens/hugs the frame it drys around.
What inspired OEO Studio to design the Kyoto Floor Lamp for Stellar Works?
The inspiration for this statement floor lamp derives from the founding years of Japanese aviation. The magnificent carpentry seen in Kyoto at this time specifically. The structure of the Kyoto Lamp expresses the intricacy of Japanese toy aeroplanes. In particular, Yoshida Hishou's A-shaped model aeroplane which crossed Tokyo’s Sumida River in a 1911.
Does the Kyoto Floor Lamp require assembly?
Yes, the Kyoto from OEO Studio requires assembly. The assembly instructions guide you through several steps to put the lamp together. Please contact us should you have any queries. The assembly does require some basic tools and knowledge of similar assemblies.
Will the Kyoto Floor Lamp light my entire room?
The Stellar Works Kyoto Light emits a gentle glow and warm-toned light. The cosy ambience also creates soft playful shadows. Kyoto is a luxury floor lamp that best suits atmospheric lighting instead of a lamp for reading.
