In the UK, the demand for modern furniture saw a surge in popularity in the past year. Furniture shops saw a rise in demand for minimalist and practical pieces. Additionally, there was a particular inclination towards Scandinavian and mid-century modern designs, with customers drawn to clean lines, neutral colours, and organic materials such as wood and leather. Shopping for furniture online gained momentum, with many opting to browse and purchase from the comfort of their homes.
In terms of lighting, there was a growing preference for statement lighting fixtures that served as both functional and decorative elements in the home. Additionally, there was an increased interest in energy-efficient and sustainable lighting options, as well as a shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly design in the architecture landscape. Architects and designers incorporated more natural light, green spaces, and energy-efficient materials into their projects, along with the rising trend of integrating smart home technology into architectural designs.
