Chris Liljenberg Halstrom

Chris Liljenberg Halstrom, born in 1977 and based in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a renowned furniture designer. With a focus on everyday situations, Chris uses familiarity and anonymity to create new expressions and purposes for objects. Her studio was established in 2007, after graduating from The Royal Danish Academy. Additionally, Chris is part of a duo with textile designer Margrethe Odgaard, where they design furniture and objects based on the questions of colour and pattern.

With a Swedish mother and Danish father, Chris’s Nordic roots influence her minimalistic approach and use of natural materials. She has collaborated with companies such as Skagerak, Design Within Reach, and Blindes Arbejde, and has worked on interior projects as well as exhibitions. In 2017, she received the Three Year Work grant from The Danish Arts Foundation.

Chris’s designs have garnered her multiple design awards, and she prioritizes function as the starting point for her beautiful creations. Her work reflects a seamless blend of Scandinavian heritage with a modern, contemporary aesthetic.
