Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936 for the world exhibition in Paris, the Alvar Aalto 120mm Glass Vase is part of the beautiful, iconic and timeless vase collection by Iittala.
Mouth blown in Iittala’s Finnish glass factory, this striking vase by Alvar Aalto is considered one of the true design classics. Available in a variety of colours, the vase is perfect for displaying a range of decorative objects, or simply as a centrepiece by itself.
Materials & Finishes
For glass vases we recommend hand washing. If there are stubborn stains on your flower vase, soak the vase in 1dl laundry detergent to one liter of water. Do not scrub, as scouring powder or abrasive scrubbing pads scratch and spoil the surface.
The so-called burning lens phenomenon may damage objects and surfaces in the vicinity of the glass object. To avoid this, do not leave a lens-shaped thick glass object or vase filled with water in direct sunlight.

The most important Finnish architect of the 20th Century and a central figure in international modernism. Born in Kuortane in 1898, Alvar Aalto made his name as a master of modern architecture through his unique style and exceptional talent. He worked closely with his wife Aino Aalto. Aalto designed concert halls, libraries, hospitals, museums and private homes, among others, all around the world. His works were exhibited in the New York Museum of Modern Art already in the 1930s. Aalto also designed several objects which were originally intended to become parts of buildings and decorations. However, the objects took on a life of their own.
What started as a glass factory in Iittala, Finland, today celebrates generations of essential objects where quality, aesthetics and functionality are important values. Iittala believes in interior design that lasts a lifetime.
